An individual submits an Income Tax Return (ITR) to the Income Tax Department of India in order to report information about his earnings and taxes due for the relevant tax year. Information included in an ITR must be relevant for a certain fiscal year. Salary, business profits, home or property sales, dividends, capital gains, and interest received are just a few examples of common sources of income.
